Multi room Audio Setup

    Hi,

A family member has just moved into a new apartment that has been wired for multi room audio.

From what I can see, in each room there's speaker cable terminals in two corners of the ceiling for the speakers and a plastic panel in the wall behind which has the other ends of the 2 speaker cables and a cat 5 cable which goes back to a central point for all the rooms.

Struggling to figure out how the speakers can be driven as there's no power cable behind the plastic cover.

Is there some system that has panels powered by Ethernet and drives the speakers at the same time, or is it possible to use the 4 cores of the cat 5 and connect them directly to the + - of the speaker cables?
Would have thought the current would be too much.

Have a russound system at home but both the Ethernet and speaker cable go back to the amplifier.

Shane you are wired for a Russound A-BUS System, no other way around it im afraid, whoever wired the flat should have run the speaker cables back to the central closet.

You could locate say a Denon HEOS Amp close to where the Keypad location is and join the speaker cables but the HEOS will also need power, this would allow you to control the amps by wireless phone/tablet devices.

a google should help you find a Russound dealer in ireland.
