Can my social welfare be cut?

    Hi guys im on jobseekers allowance and i have a child and live at home with my parents.The other week a social welfare inspector was out to my house and i explained my situation to him that my childs father does work but i dont get a single penny from him and we dont live together this is all true but now today i got a letter from social welfare they want a payslip from my childs father?Is this going to affect my payment?Why are they asking me for this when we dont even live together?

    Write back to Welfare and tell them to contact your child's father directly. You should give them his name and address. And you should also apply for One Parent Family payment, if, as you say, he is not supporting you or the child.
