    hi Guys

I have a stove hearth with electric stove in it , its hardly ever turned on and when it is, heat isnt an issue. Currently the surround is just plastered wall , i would like to put something on it . Can i get some ideas of what would look good please ? I would like the stick on stone panels but are they easy to fix ? would i have to cut them ?

Can you post a picture of how it looks now. Even a contrasting paint colour might liven it up a bit.

See that moulding that goes around the edge, how much of a lip is there between that and the concrete behind it?

    Right. Not a lot then.
You can get laminate flooring in stone effect. I used some of it in my kitchen, and it's very realistic, but it's 8mm thick, plus the adhesive behind it, you'd really want that front trim to be out half an inch to make it look good.
You could always change the trim piece you have there.

That said though, just painting the walls would make a huge difference.
