Lonelec cable won't connect to my laptop.
Also tried a different brand diagnostics cable and same problem.
    I get this blue screen.
Never have this when connecting any other devices.

Its an asus laptop with windows 10.
I have tried both cables on someone else laptop with windows 7 and they worked no bother.

I think this error in my event viewer is the problem but not sure how to sort it.
I put this in motors forum hoping someone has came across this problem before.

Your computer is crashing due to some paging fault but the error in Event Viewer is related to the software for your touch pad.

    Try 2 things:

    1. Disable paging
    Press the Windows key
Search for System and click it
    Click on Advanced system settings
    Go to the Advanced tab
    Under Performance click Settings...
    Go to the Advanced tab
    Under Virtual Memory click Change...
Untick Automatically manage paging file size for all drives
Make sure C: drive is selected in the list
    Select No paging file
    Click Set
    Click OK

Close all the windows and restart your computer, see if it helps. Re-enable everything you did if it doesn't help.

    2. Turn off touch pad software

Find the icon for the touch pad software on your Windows taskbar in the task tray. Right click and try to exit/quit it.

Full guide on Google, word for word, plus additional material if that doesn't work ;)

Off the top of my head... Have the drivers become corrupted? Can you run in compatibility mode?

    Thanks i'll try that!
Not sure if the error in the event log is connected or not but its the only discrepancy i can see.
I have tried downloading the driver for the cable manually but just as its about to finish, it triggers the blue screen again.

The cables are fine, as i have used them to remap twice already using someone elses laptop.

I'll have to look up compatibility mode.
Not sure about drivers being corrupt, cables just won't work on my laptop.
I even uninstalled drivers and downloaded them separately without the cable plugged in.
Then when I plugged the cable back in, i got the blue screen again.
It will be a few hours before i can get to my laptop to try out your tips.

Reinstalling was probably the best thing you could do! Nothing better than a fresh system :)

I actually use my diagnostics tools on a Windows XP virtual machine. I installed VirtualBox onto my laptop and then installed Windows XP and all the tools there. It's a very good idea because the automotive software generally works very good on XP and the virtual machine can be easily copied to another computer ;)
