    Its about 40km outside of the city. Would be more appropriate if the heading of the story on RTE's (and elsewhere) news page said 'Man shot by garda in Co. Limerick' rather than 'Limerick', as the latter would be assumed by most people to be the city rather than the county.

    For a national story on the RTE news website it should have 'Co. Limerick' or 'County Limerick' in the heading, does everyone in Dublin etc. know where Newcastle West is? I don't think so. Also there are similarly named places elsewhere such as Newcastle in Co. Wicklow ...
