Leak from coolant reservoir

Hi, I've a 2001 Passat and coolant light came on on way home from work. Went to fill it up and coolant is leaking out of bottom of reservoir. I could see it was coming out of escape pipe at the bottom. I've taken it out and posted a pic below. I don't know if there was a cap on this previously or even a hose to somewhere.…

Hi,

I've a 2001 Passat and coolant light came on on way home from work.
Went to fill it up and coolant is leaking out of bottom of reservoir. I could see it was coming out of escape pipe at the bottom. I've taken it out and posted a pic below. I don't know if there was a cap on this previously or even a hose to somewhere.

Any ideas anybody?

It is certainly a hose that has come off.

Looking at the position, i'd say of you find the thick coolant hose at the bottom of the radiator and trace it back, you will find the hose that should be attached.
