Computer recycling

Wondering where to bring an old computer for recycling in South Dublin area. I've heard many electric stores do not take them any more as it is to costly for them to recycle the components?

Not exactly south Dublin but Power city in fonthill don't mind what you bit into their cage inside the entrance.

If it's in any way serviceable, this crowd refurbish old computers and send them to schools and communities in poor parts of the world....

Otherwise Power City as recommended above. The trick is not to ask anyone, park in the car park, leave the gear in the car and do a reccie to see where the recycling bin is located, it's often now inside the premises to discourage people from literally dumping old rubbish like ironing boards. Then go back to the car, get the gear, walk straight in and place it in the bin without creating too much noise and nobody will pass any heed on you. Bring someone with you to carry the peripherals and to open the door for the person with the heavy stuff.

The re-furb crowd would be the best if the machine is serviceable.

However if it's not working, then any of the council recycling centres should take electrical gear for free and for nothing, as you pay the WEEE charge on purchase which is used to fund the recycling.
