Where to buy tiles?

In the process of a house renovation, picking tiles will be coming up soon. 2 bathrooms, kitchen & utility will all need tiling.

Any tips for purchasing tiles or where to go? I have been around various Dublin showrooms pricing tiles but any recommended ones? Dublin area would be best but willing to travel for a good deal. Ceramic is probably all the budget will stretch to.

Also I haven't even gotten to the stage of looking at adhesive and grout prices, I know they will bump up the overall cost considerably. Any ballpark figure of a reasonable price for them per bag?

I have a tiler, just no tiles. Would the tiler be able to get better trade prices for adhesive and grout?

    Thanks for any assistance :)

We found Tubs and Tiles good for subway tiles. We got a bit caught out by not factoring in that although the tiles were good value (I think 22 euro or something per m sq) because they are small the labour costs were higher. Very happy with how they look though - plain white in a brick pattern. They go with everything!

I have done my running around 22 Euro is a little dear. Where I looked it was 17.99 did you try b and q I found the subway tiles in there are the cheapest

We didn't - I think I was concerned that the quality in the DIY places wouldn't be as good, but it probably is!

Meant to say that we went for a dark grey grout (Mid Grey Tilemaster grout) and it looks great.

We tiled the showers floor to ceiling and did half way up the wall on the others. A friend gave us the tip of making sure to ask for the brushed chrome tile trim instead of plastic, and it finishes it off nicely. We went for bevelled subway in the bathrooms and flat in the kitchen splashback.

I think the subway are really timeless and classy.
