Posted here before about buying a rear mounted disc mower in the machinery thread. BTW thanks for all the replies.
I had it narrowed down to kverneland or kuhn on value for money and had decided to go 9'. I have been thrown a curve ball though with serious value on a vicon.
Anybody know anything about these? The rep tells me they have the same bed as a kverneland and are made in the same factory. Different shape disc and 3 blades per disc being the big difference.

I have an 8' CM2400. 6 years old now. Delighted with it, great to cut. Not the strongest mower on the market but if you are good to mind gear it won't let you down. Not too light either mind. Superior machine to cut compared to the heavy bed kuhn mowers gmd600, 700 etc.
There is a heavier model vicon, think it's DMP2400, 2800 etc. Which model have you been offered?

I saw a vicon for sale last year it was 40 years old and like new a credit to the owner, he had the manual and all the accessories even after 40 years. Of course the same mower could be wrecked after 4 years with a different owner.

We have a smaller vicon mower for the last 10 years CM167. Couldn't fault it. It has been an excellent mower and has never given issues nice clean cut on it. Doesn't get worked overly hard to be fair mostly topping, cutting overgrown paddocks for bales and maybe a meadow of hay every year. All other cutting done here by contractor.

CM model. When I went to look at the mower it wasn't nearly as heavy as the kverneland. I have a deal done for a kverneland now and am happy enough with my decision.

Ón some rough ground here so probaly was the cause.

Good choice, in saying that I haven't put a spanner or welding rod on my vicon.
As I said in the other thread, it'd b hard pass kverneland. Baling Contractor here had a 10' Kv trailed mower for 11 years. The dealer where he deals all the time changed agency to lely 4 yrs ago, my man traded the Kv for a new lely at the time, He's back with a new Kv this year from a different dealer. Same careful driver on these 3 mowers. He says it's like night and day with lely vs Kv.
