so is there some site which lists all upcoming comics before release ideally one which lists all publishers.

i just want to be ahead of the game

Big Bang also sends an email with solicitations for comics 3 months in advance. I think the info is available at comicbookresources.com anyway but I always just wait for the emails cos I'm lazy.

Twitter is also great. Creators are always talking about stuff they've got coming up. If you follow your favourite creators you'll never miss out!

The current mail in my Inbox from the big bang is for September releases.
I think that's plenty of time for advance ordering.

The weekly one is more of a reminder of what's to come.

Yeah BigBang do a pre-orders mail for a month in advance which is typically plenty of notice.

And bar the obvious massive releases, I've always been fine getting stuff onto my list or orders with the weekly releases mail.

    Pretty much this.

Find twitter to be great as sometimes creators I'm following will highlight someone elses work that I probably would have missed otherwise :)

If you can read this, you're too close!

There are two separate things to consider, really.

Firstly there's the week-to-week "What might I be interested in?" type question. The best bet there is to follow your local shop's lists - as the posters above have mentioned, the Big Bang do this by email. My old LCS in London, the wonderful Gosh! in London have a blog on which they post weekly "new releases" roundups, as well as "The Gosh! Authority" posts which are slightly less frequent but have their recommendations for titles and events to look out for. I'm not in London these days but I still keep an eye on it as the folks at Gosh! have great taste in comics. I'm sure there are other sites, blogs and shops that might also be useful to you for this kind of thing, so the trick is to look around a bit and find the ones that work for you. As has been mentioned, Twitter may also be useful for this.

Secondly there's the longer-term preorder tracking. I still find this kind of painful, to be honest - I don't really buy all that many single issues any more but when I was doing so, my usual approach was to go through publisher listings individually (I'd generally by more of my singles from Image than Marvel or DC, so I'd just go straight to their site). If you're reading a mixture, your best bet is to use the Previews website. Be warned, it's not exactly pleasing to the eye - but at least it doesn't involve the eye-watering cheek of being asked to pay for a catalogue of items available for you to pre-order.
