Best way to find a retail job,

What's the best way to find a retail job?

I'm struggling at the moment, I have been going through websites day after day and there isn't much out there. I have 6 months experience in a hardware shop, and 4 months in Penneys. I have a good CV and cover letter, but I don't even get a call, or an email for an interview, just rejections.

    Any advice?

    face to face,

get suited and booted and start walking into the businesses some weekday with your CV.

ask to speak to the owner or manager and tell them you are really eager to work for them.

also check with family and friends if they know of anyone hiring

just putting it out there: advise wise, it depends on what age etc you are but 6 months and 4 months are short service times, depending on the reason for leaving those jobs it could be a factor.

make sure if it was contract work it says so on your CV
    eg:

    Pennys
October 2015- January 2016 (Christmas Seasonal Staff)

otherwise they might be wondering why you left.

just an idea... obviously if your in college and you returning to school or something that will be obvious but its just an idea.
