    I had to google that, very interesting, I had assumed something of the kind in the locals. There still seems to be a shortage of females locally although several young ducks have appeared which I assume are this years ducklings grown up a bit. I haven't seen any really young ducklings locally.

    Could be mink killing all nesting females and young. Females vunerable on nest.
