Underbody Powerwash

I need to get the underside of a 4x4 powerwashed. This is in advance of rust treatment, so the car needs to be lifted on a ramp and washed from the underside. Does anyone know of anyone out there that can do this, ideally in the South Dublin or Wicklow area? It's quite a big job, so "having a go" with a domestic washer while lying on the ground is not going to cut it!

Cant think of anywhere that might offer the service, but a bit of improvisation might work with a domestic washer?
You could probably go with something with a steeper incline with a 4x4. Drive it in forward, do the front 50%, back it off, and back it on and do the other 50%....just a thought!

Sometimes with a job like that, that you want done right, you are better doing yourself! ;) Especially if nobody can suggest a place that specializes in it.

I don't think you will find a place where anyone will be able to raise the car in the air and power wash it with all the crap going all over the floor. Best suggestion is to raise it and stick the lance under and wash as best as you can going around the car and not being under it.

Texaco in Spawell has a carwash that does a jet underwash on the most expensive wash option.

Whether it'll be enough to completely clean in advance of rust treatment though...

You'd need quite a bit of time spent doing it - power washer alone wouldnt suffice - you'd need to be working most areas with an array of brushes and degreaser too.

You can get underbody lances that reach under car, how good they are I couldn't say. I got a mate who details up north has one for some jobs.

Karcher does a gizmo to but doubt it be robust enough.

Same mate knows a chap that steam cleans underneath cars but he up north in dungannon / Cookstown way.

Went with the option of driving it onto a bank. it's improved though not 100%. Amazed that no one offers this facility in Dublin!

Vast majority dont give toss about there cars and run them to point of breaking and just buy a newer one so they can have newest number plate to keep up appearances.

Those that do look after them most likely do better job or prefer to do it themselves :D
