Disparity of Cult dispensation

    Hi folks,

    Has anyone here experience of getting a disparity of cult dispensation from the Church and know how long it typically takes to get approved?

    I am Catholic and my fiancee is not baptised so we get to get a disparity of cult dispensation for permission to marry in a Catholic church.

    We spoke with the local priest who said once we have completed our pre marraige course he will send all the paperwork off to the bishop.
    However the earliest date we could get for the premarraige course is four weeks before the wedding....

    Does anyone know if that is plenty time or if we are cutting it tight?

    Cutting it VERY tight, depending on where you are living, getting married etc. What premarriage course have you gone for? have you tried some of the other companies?

    Ask your priest if he'll accept one of the onlince courses, that way he can get the paperwork sorted more quickly.
