Some idiot edited his Wikipedia page to say that Jon Jones was involved.
    Death[edit]
Jimmo got in a parking lot altercation with Jon Jones in the early morning of June 26, 2016, in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Jimmo spoke to Jones in a car, and, as he was walking away, that car sped up and ran him over in a hit and run. Jimmo later died at the hospital from his injuries..[34]

There's always a wannabe comedian trolling Wikipedia.

It is awful news. Always came across as a nice guy.

    That's awful. RIP.

My favourite memory of him was the intro to the event where he fought James Te Huna. Normally, they show 5-6 highlights from every fighter on the main card but for Jimmo, they showed the same Perosh KO from 5-6 different angles cos they only had 7 seconds of footage to work with :D

I had assumed that he was the victim in an unfortunate accident, or something. It it appears to be much more malicious than that. The wiki story above (minus Jon Jones) is pretty accurate. The driver intentionally ran him over.
