Here is a quick snap of my last few games. Should an ESR not have been applied for the last score ?

If I understand the ESR there should have been further1 shot cut

The number of qualifying scores in the sequence is 5 and the average Nett Differential is -6.

5 to 9 scores with an average of -5.5 to -9.5 is 1 stroke

No 100% sure but I don't think it matters the amount of 0.1s or average. What I understand is beating CSS by 4 triggers the start. Depending on the time between the start and another round beating CSS by 4 determines the weight of the ESR. Also you've beaten the CSS by 8 so that might be an even bigger cut.
There was a thread about a year or so back. I think Parlance had a good link or description of how the ESR works

Just had a look at my records, had 2 sores that beat the CSS by 4 last year in the same time frame as yourself. Got a ESR of 0.5

I know they changed the time in between scores to the amount of qualifying scores, with a sliding scale of 4 and less, 5 to 10 and above 10

Oh right, does it kick in straight away or does the GUI apply it? Maybe it will kick in on Monday

The range of the average scores changed this year. It is now -4.0 to -6.0 and -6.5 to -9.5
That should mean a cut of 0.5 on the way. Congrats on the great round yesterday :)

Should handicap master not apply that straight away ?

To my understanding your handicap secretary would get a notification asking whether they should apply the ESR or not from the computer.

Maybe your handicap secretary feels you've been cut enough ;)

I think the last one I got was a couple of days after the good round, howdidido recorded a change on the Sunday from the round and then esr on the Tuesday.

It takes a day or two to kick in iirc.

This is correct, the HC sec will approve the ESR next time he syncs the HC computer with the CDH.

I am the handicap Sec, I have done these so many times and always I have been prompted by the system straight after the competition has been closed.

This is the 1st time it hasn't and I have to be careful that I am seen to be fair across the board. I had to cut our president last week after his two big scores and spent 3 nails explaining the ESR to him.

Will call handicapmaster once they open

I was just looking at your handicap record attachment again. Is this your 3rd time beating the CSS by 4 this year?
If it is then you are not due an ESR.

The 1st and 2nd time you beat the CSS by 4 are paired together. Then the 3rd and 4th time are paired together.
Last year the 2nd and 3rd scores paired together would trigger an ESR but that has changed.

This is correct, so Saturday's result is the start of a new sequence. Seems odd that in 18 games I can have a -5, -2, -4 & -8 and not get an ESR.

I will talk to the other two on the committee with me and may do a general play cut ???

No need to do general play cut as you are playing regularly and getting cut, GP cuts are really only for scores other than HC counting comps e.g. classics etc., it is a bit strange though that you are the HC sec and didn't know that the sequence resets and after 10 rounds, or are you just playing the system:P or is this a very thinly vailed brag:pac::D

That is change from last year that I was not aware of, I was looking at the info from the GUI that we got and on a closer reading I see it now. I would be pretty happy with my ability to be a handicap sec, I doubt there is an volunteer out there that knows every detail of the CONGU manual. That is why we have the branches to reach out to.
