    Shot themselves in the foot with it being applied unilaterally to both indigenous and foreign buyers

    As with all well intentioned laws it got screwed up by politics
    If they had put in something like the buyer had to be resident x miles from the land it would be more workable

    We should be thankful, if the likes of poland/Ukraine which is in free fall in agricultural output and russia ever got their acts together, they would wipe out the likes of Irelands agri-industry
