Start new job while on redundancy notice?

I'm currently on redundancy notice and have left my job so effectively have a few weeks paid holiday. Was planning on taking a couple of months off but a job has pretty much landed in my lap.

Am I right in thinking the only issue with starting during my notice is that I wouldn't have any tax credits?

You will loose your redundancy if you leave before it's paid.

I'm not leaving. I'm an employee until mid July but they wanted people gone so I'm on paid leave until my finish date. So the new job would effectively be me taking on a second job.

You would still effectively be employed by your old company during working hours. Can you in theory be in two places at the same time.?

It's only a few weeks to wait.

But I am being paid not to be there by my old company?

    Hi
I was a manager in a large retail multi national 2 years ago and availed of a voluntary redundancy package.

I know some of my former colleague's took work elsewhere almost immediately and did run into issues with redundancy due to this.

My 2c would be contact a legal expert for advice it's not too expensive and could save you a decent sum.

Have taken advice and based on my exit statement it won't jeopardise my payment, the only issue will be lack of tax credits. Thanks for the help on here
