Storing firewood

    Have about half a artic load of timber to cut and split this summer. Thing is I'm short of storage space for it. was thinking of neatly stacked on top of pallets covered with a tarpolin. Would this be a good or bad idea ? Would rodents be a problem ? Any other ideas on storing it ?

    Is your wood already dry? I dont think wet wood cut now wont be dry for use this year.

    allow air to circulate through under the top of the tarp (could raise the top of the tarp with a few blocks) and through the blocks, somthing along the lines of below (but this would be for already dried wood storage.

    If you short of storage space then it will store better in log form. Just stack off the ground and cover top with plastic sheeting.

    Thanks lads. A load I bought last year, still waiting to be processed, but well seasoned, as long as I get it ready when it's dry over the summer.
