PayPal Claim & Returns

    Hi..

I bought some car parts through PayPal last month from a company in Germany, they sent over the wrong stuff and then ignored all my emails over a 2 week period so I claimed off PayPal and got a full refund during the week including freight costs.

I still have the car parts and now I've gotten an email from the German company asking for my assistance in getting them back.. I told them that they are boxed and ready for collection and that I'd let them send the proper ones over, pay them again with PayPal and they can collect the box on the same day as they deliver with DHL but again they are ignoring my emails.

I can get the proper parts somewhere else no problem but can I keep/sell these other parts or am I obliged to hold onto them for a period of time or send them back?

You have got your refund, which is the main thing.
Just send them a short email explaining that they can collect the parts within 7 days or you will dispose of them yourself. If you don't hear back from them that's their problem.
In the meantime just order the parts elsewhere and hopefully the company you order from won't mess up the order this time.

when you were refunded by paypal, what did they say ? normally the item has to go back first, ive had a few refunds over the years where pypal has refunded me and the seller got to keep his payment and i then sold on the item
    courtesy refund it was called
i had it recently with ebay too and i had posted the faulty item in question (watch worth £550) back the day before so the seller got paid and his watch back lol, i got my refund so i was happy

so it all depends what paypal told you to do next if anything

This is the email I got from PayPal...

We have concluded our investigation into your case and have decided in your
    favor.

We were able to recover 163.76 EUR and this amount has been credited to
you.  Please allow five business days for this adjustment to be posted.

If you are due any additional funds, we will make our best effort to
recover the balance from the seller.

If the seller's account has insufficient funds to complete the refund owed
to you, please be assured that we will take appropriate action against the
seller's account, which may include limitation of the seller's

Actually... reading the email again it does say no further action is required by me at this point!!!

Yeah you get to keep the goods and the refund
The shipping costs probably exceeded what PayPal thought was worth the hassle
Not up to you to question PayPals decision wheprn it's in your favour
Sellers fault for sending the wrong items
    Happy days for you

Returning the goods is not to do with PayPal and what you are suggesting is unlawful.

    The goods are not yours.

You must give reasonable time for the company to collect the goods - 30 days is considered reasonable.

If after 30 days they have not been collected, you send them another email informing them that you will dispose of the goods.

How do you know PayPal didn't cover the cost to both clients as a courtesy refund
paypal usually request the items to be returned before issuing a refund
