Car hire - Vancouver/Vancouver Island

    Can anyone recommend a car hire place in Vancouver ?
    Will need one for about 10 days in August
    Will also need a car on Vancouver Island - I've been told it's better to rent a car on the island itself rather than bring a Vancouver city rental over ?

    We visited British Columbia several years ago and rented a car for 3 weeks (with Avis via an online broker), taking the car on the ferry from Tsawwassen to Vancouver Island. For us, that was far more practical rather than handing back the car on the mainland, renting again on Vancouver Island and renting again when we got returned to the mainland to continue on our way.

    One thing to bear in mind that it's about $120 return for a car (with no driver) from Tsawwassen to Swartz Bay. It might be cheaper to do two rentals - worth investigating anyway.
