    Hi all,
I switched job recently. Went from one straight into the other
gave 45 rang Revenue and everything great and sorted

I got paid and my wages were much higher than my salary expectation(which is good)

    However, My query is.

If I previously overpaid paye tax between week 1-18 and this was sorted in my new job, if I got tax back, would tax back appear on my payslip?
it just says gross pay as my only income
is tax back always separate to gross pay?
I don't know if this is just my salary or possible tax back and salary

under PAYE,USC AND PRsi there is just standard deductions and no negative figures.

    Hi Wally,

Negative figures do appear in your payslip if you get refunds of either PAYE and USC. Your gross salary is your gross salary only and you would see any refunds as a negative figure or something similar in the PAYE or USC section adjusting your net salary upwards as you are getting a higher net than you would if you were getting a normal payslip.

The problem might be the way the specific payroll program handles that negative figure. It might not look very clear it is a negative figure.

Regardless of the refund Gross Pay should never include any refunds of tax.

    IHTH
