Honda Civic 1.4 Petrol

Looking to move from Diesel to Petrol (booking the trend my end of the country somewhat). I am very keen on Civic as was recommended to me as having a durable engine in the past.

From looking and pricing around, I'd go nowhere else but Dublin to buy as seen a lot more petrol civics in the 2011 - 2013 range for sale and notice mileage is a lot lower on them (which I assume is city driving).

Can anyone provide any advice on1.4 petrol engines and advise on whether I might be better with something like a Corolla.

I am trading a 2008 diesel Jetta as my annual mileage is much reduced and servicing/maintenance with older diesel car is now a bit of a pain in the Arse.

Have you test driven one yet? My mum has a 2011 1.4 Civic which I drive occasionally. Lovely car for nipping around the city, but I find it very under powered once out of the city

No not yet. To be honest it will be mostly urban driving I'll be doing as I live and work in Sligo town. My wife has a diesel car too so the plan would be to use her car for any longer journeys.
