Clutch /Gearbox

My motor a 02 Toyota Corolla has broking down . Dont know what is wrong with it but its either the Clutch or Gearbox !! What would you pay to fix either of these as i dont want to catch flys when the mechanic tells me the bill. Thanks All.

A clutch replacement should be in the region of €350 incl labour.

Gearbox could be much more expensive.

Can you describe the symptoms?
