    i5 6500 €200
    8gb DDR4 €50
    1tb HDD €50
    240gb SSD €75
    Case €100
    B150 board €70
    500w PSU €60
    Total €600

€500 left for a GPU. I'd say get a €390, give him €50 for the steam sale and put the rest towards pints and pizza

He saved that money over the last 2 years. He wants to go all out on the components that he needs.

Meant to be an R9 390 not €390 sorry.

There's no need in going any higher. He can afford a GTX 1070 but they'll both Max games at 1080p for a while so there isn't any point in getting the 1070, it's extra power is wasted.

In fact waiting a week or two and getting an RX 480 is a better idea again than the 390.

Steam Sale starts tomorrow tell him to go with €50/75 and his new PC will play everything he can buy when it arrives. There aren't any cut corners in my build, just sensible balancing of components.

Maybe leave the pints bit out :D

I know you state you don't need a monitor but if at all possible go with a 144hz monitor, totally transforms gaming for anyone used to just 60hz.

Where's the best place to buy the components these days?

Mindfactory.de for components. Amazon.co.uk for case.

    That's the general recommendation.
You can also shop around on overclockers.co.uk, computeruniverse.net, scan.co.uk, amazon.de/es/fr
