Help identifying this dog tag

I think it's a dog tag! It was in an old canvas first aid bag that I bought from Alpha Bargains back in the 80s. When I googled it I got:

    http://www.ww2.dk/ground/flak/abt/ers19.html

Just wondering if I could trace the owner? The family might like it as a momento?

The problem with the German dog tags is the coding system used to identify the soldier.

The numbers were generated locally, iirc, by the unit to which the soldier was posted to for training. This tag belonged to soldier '21' in that unit. To identify him you'd need to get hold of the rolls for that unit, if they still exist.

It might be worth posting your request in the Axis History forum?

If it's a heavy Flak battery, then they were using 88s and possibly 128mms, seeing as they appeared to have stayed in one location for the duration.

Totally forgot all about this. The abbreviations on the disk mean
Flugzcugahwehrkanone Maschinengewehrzug Ersatzabteilung which translates as Anti aircraft Machine gun replacement battalion. Info on the unit here https://www.asisbiz.com/Luftwaffe/ers19.html

As it says MZ i am assuming the disc is from before 41/42 as they converted to a schwere flak unit at that time.

Thanks, that's the same info I found.
