Help with reading cert

    On this marriage cert I'm trying to make out the surname of the father of the bride.

    The cert dates from 1874 and the lady is most likely Welsh. You can see that she was previously married to a Mr. Williams.

    That checks out. I can find a Margaret Elias and a John Williams marrying in the same district in 1868 when she would have been 21. And I can find a 23 year old John Williams also in the same reg district who died in 1870 so worth checking.

    I'm on bogland internet (E) at the mom so cannot easily load stuff - their kids should be in the 1901 census, are you working back from that or have you looked?
