    Hi

I'm new to boards and am looking for some help - bought an A6 08 2Ltr TDI sportsline from my neighbour in Jan - had it serviced at Christmas.
I brokedown yesterday - no power in the engine my mechanic says its an oil pump failure - an a big job to fix - been reading up on it seems to be a common problem -has Audi done anything about it? in terms of recall - or offsetting costs of repair etc.
    Any advice is welcome

    Thanks

Have a search of the forum while you're waiting for experts/ other victims. I'd say this crops up twice a month so there should be plenty info around. Some other posters don't like this being pointed out but...

Common enough on the 2.0l tdi of that year. Stupid design of the pump drive, shaft gets rounded off and it fails. The shaft must be replaced with a modified one. (The older design was a chain driven unit.) Hopefully the engine wasn't starved of oil and not seized.
Wouldn't know about Audi, unless you have a FSH with them and still it's at their discretion.

No chance of satisfaction from Audi on a 8 year old car unfortunately, your turbo is probably goosed too if not the entire engine..:(

Thanks very much - mechanic says turbo needs to be replaced too - he suggested to ring VAG - but it looks like that cuold be a waste of time and effort, have you heard of anybody getting any satisfaction from Audi? I suspect not

    Thanks again

Absolute waste of time ringing them but you can try, I have a issue with a 151 and they don't want to know about it. That's a pure bummer after buying it op sorry for your troubles.
