Does anyone know where I can get an implement to attach a nose ring to a bull. I saw a vet use one once. It was like a pliers where the ring was easily attached to the nose. Cost?

I have a punch here that clips a hole in the nose and leavea it easy to get the ring through. Bought off magenta direct under €20 iirc.

Ouch....we've always got the vet to sedate and numb them, before doing it with a scalpel.

I couldn't find it on their website. Do you have a link?

I can't find it on their website now either. I have it about two years or so. Give them a ring and they will tell you. Sorry about that.

I mentioned it in this thread too and patsy put up a link. The link is not finding it now so maybe they don't stock them now.

I think this is what your looking for on a different site. I'm not familiar with them though so can't say good bad or indifferent.

We have always used a nose punch to ring bulls although we always got a neighbour to punch them. It is also important to attach a suitable sized ring to the bull.

We do ours with the puncher too. Make sure to have ring out of packet and whatever you do dont loose the little screw. Also have a pliers ready to turn the screw . My dad was saying years ago they used to put the bulls head through a shed window and put a red hot poker through the bulls nose to make the hole for the ring

I got around to putting my first ring on a bull. Usually get the vet to do it when they are here, but they haven't been out this year.
I was going to buy that pliers that punches a hole in the nose, but the lads in the COOP said to just push the ring through. Rang the vet and he said the same. He said the punches were a pain to use.
Gave the bull 10cc of adrenacaine before hand and had him well tied up with a halter. Did one bull and will wait a few days before during the others in case I fooked up.
