    Hello,

Is there a campsite on the Aran Islands? I somehow can;t find any contacts online despite repeated claims that one exists.

Basically I want to travel with a dog and I don't want to pay the premium for an entire cottage so looks like a campsite might be the best option. Or might there be any other?

B&B and leave the dog in the car for the night ?

Night in the car should be fine as the sun is not shining.
Check with the B&B beforehand to be sure that arrangement would be ok.

We don't expect to bring the car up to the islands. As far as I am aware most ferries don't take cars, and also there is no petrol on the islands (and we don't have a diesel car). Besides he might get barking.

Thanks! The first link for "Aran Islands Campsite" goes to http://www.aranislands.com/ which does not have it. But I scrolled down and there's also just "Campsite" and a mobile number that I can try!

We were on Inis Oírr on a day trip while camping in Doolin on the June bank holiday. There was a good few people camping on site by the beach only info I found from a quick search
    http://discoverinisoirr.com/astablishments/campsite/

Basic enough faciltys but did have a couple of showers and a washing machine. We'll definitley go back and stay a night or two.

    Edit wife just found this

There's a campsite on Inis Oirr, near the football pitch, and another one on Inis Mór just off the low road.

I have now called the Inis Oirr campsite. The Inis Mor number was wrong, but I called the tourist office on Inis Mor and the campsite is there all right (they described it as "a field converted to a campsite, with toilets").

No booking needed, so I can basically come and pitch.
