A couple apps that I've paid for that I always install are

Pocketcasts - Podcast app. There are other podcast apps available. I paid for BeyondPod too but prefer Pocketcasts.

Nova Launcher - I change my phone every year. I used to buy Samsungs who like to tell you what your experience will be. Nova Launcher allows you to customise the Launcher quite a bit. Just bought this for my folks as it allowed me to lock icons on their screens, make icons bigger etc.

MxPlayer Pro - There's a free version but I used this so much I paid the couple of quid to the developer.

Moon+ Reader Pro - ebook / PDF reader. Again there's a free version but it's worth the money.

hmm, as Apps I've purchased using up credit as you are intending:

    EMBY:

    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mb.android

Is a media client. Requires EMBY software installed in a server sort of solution. Similar to PLEX. Purchasing the app give some extra features.

    Comic Rack:

    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cyo.comicrack.viewer

For reading comics. Also allows syncing to a desktop if you have comic rack installed on that. so progress can be shared (Comic Rack for Windows).

    Last Pass:

    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lastpass.lpandroid

Password manager. Bonus points for paying to the subscription does not limit it to android platform. You are paying for an account that can be used across a range of devices (IOS, Android, Win7/8/10).

    Maps & Navigation — OsmAnd+:

    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.osmand.plus

GPS without requiring data. Just what everyone on Three needs really :P Paying for it only gives a few extra bits. Can't remember the difference to be honest, as I installed the free app for a quick look then just purchased the full version right off.

    ES File Explorer/Manager PRO

    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.estrongs.android.pop.pro

Always been my preferred File Manager, so just bought the pro version when I had the credit to use.

Other than that I've just bought games.

Fotmob is free football scores but the pro version is worth the few quid imo, it's a brilliant app. Also second Pocketcasts for podcasts and flight radar pro.

You could take out a Play Music subscription and/or get some movies on Play movies.

    This too shall pass.

If you have a games console you can spend the credit on games for the xbox or Playstation
