Andy Samberg's latest film, made with the Lonely Island. It's a very funny send up of Justin Bieber, and probably the best mockumentary since Spinal Tap.
Unfortunately, despite it only costing $20 million, it's a box office flop, which is a shame, because it's one of the better comedies of the year.

Been waiting for this all summer. Googling tells me it's released in Ireland this week but neither my local Odeon or Omniplex have it. Can anyone shed any light on this for me, I really want to see this.

It's in 8 cinemas in Dublin:

It seems to be in the IMC and Eye in Galway too. And that's it. It might be in one or two other cinemas in the country, but it looks like a limited release.

Loved this... shame it's getting such a limited release!

Thought it was great. It'll probably get the same cult status that Hot Rod now enjoys

Great for plenty of laughs if you like Sambergs style of comedy.
A lot lot better than many other 'comedies' out there!
Was surprised I heard nothing about it. Just happened to catch it on the listings over the weekend.
Some outrageous moments, but lots of subtle and smart stuff too.

Fun film, certainly a lot better than the average comedy in the cinema these days

Strange that it's gotten such a small scale release here

"Conner we've talked about this, 30 Seconds To Mars is the name of a band, it's not a fact..."

Such a shame this hasn't gotten a wider release - I can see it gaining a Cult Following over time though.

    Very little promotion for it

It's not really done in proper "mockumentary" style though, which is what made Spinal Tap so unique. People could think it was real.

I didn't love this as much as I wanted to love it. In fact, I didn't like it as much as I wanted. I love Lonely Island and Hot Rod is one of my favourite dumb comedies and so easy to watch over and over again. This didn't cut it for me. Given how catchy their parody songs have been in the past, particularly their first album, I would have thought I would have come out of it humming many of the tunes but nothing stuck out. The funniest tune was the one about gay rights.

The comedy was obvious and no stand out moments that had me laughing my ass off, and it just went down the "let's throw a bunch of cameos in there and that will be enough" route. It's such a shame. It's not terrible, it's just not up their with their best. If I was to guess I would say it was very rushed from inception to completion.
