My friend is looking to build a pc. It will be for photo and video edit. Games not important. Needs info for case and all that goes into it and 64 bit windows. Is there a specific version of windows best for photo and video edit.?

It's a really nice case to build in. Has enough space for almost every GPU you can buy, so you're not limited to ITX cards.

Mini-ITX only has 1 expansion slot, so you could have either a gaming graphics card (GPU) or PCI-e soundcard, but not both.

However, you're better off with an external USB soundcard for a variety of reasons.
Additionally, motherboard sound processing is pretty good these days.

Games not important but graphics would be i think for photos? And he wants a sound card as a lot of computer now do not have stereo mix. If you do a screen record it will not record as you hear through the speakers

Could you suggest a case a bit bigger. Does not have to be mini case. Fit soundcard/graphics card and space for 3 hard drives

Actually I just glanced at this the first time. I'm literally after building an almost identical system. Only real difference is I dropped it down to a i5 6400.

Motherboard is quality too. The review on PCPartpicker is pretty accurate. The only other thing not mentioned is you're going to need a few washers - the wifi antennae don't securely screw down onto the IO shield/backplate like they should. If you don't pop a washer or two behind the nut, the antenna will just flop over all the time.

The graphics card Quadro K620 isn't strictly necessary, as in most applications the CPU would be doing the heavy lifting. Depends on what program is being used.

And he wants a sound card as a lot of computer now do not have stereo mix. If you do a screen record it will not record as you hear through the speakers

I'm not sure I follow? Screen record is software which grabs what's being displayed directly.

I'm not sure I follow? Screen record is software which grabs what's being displayed directly.

It also record the sound say if you record a you tube video. Without stereo mix you may not be able to record the soundas you hear them through the speakers. Depends on the screen record software but is a hassle so he wants a separate soundcard. Thanks
