Grass seed

I've 100 acres and I reseeded 20 acres with Tipperary 4A and a bit of rape seed mixed with it. The results were unreal this was heavy ground. Agritech were brilliant to deal with and they really now there stuff. Grass is growing at 45kg/ha

what will the rape seed bring to the party? Is it just to bulk up the silage and would it be as good as oats and barley in a reseed?

I think what he is really trying to say 45kg/hectare from date of sowing to grazing but I stand to be corrected

there's a guy that sells Agritech products out a van in Ennis mart most Tuesdays & he's way cheaper that dealing with Agritech direct, only problem is that he'd give a disprin a headache with him talking sh1te.

have used their 4A & it's ok, maybe more suited to heavy ground than lighter soil.

What variety's do people use for lighter soils and do certain grass seeds grow better in deeper soil rather than lighter.

No this is used for grazing. Cows eat right to the clay and milk yealds are up. Rape is used to break up the soil and drive grass on. Rape is sprayed and dies off
