I am just completely torn between two horses in the 3:00 at Hexham. See Double You is an old (very much so in the literal sense) favourite of mine who has been successfully campaigned in England for years now. On the other hand, I also see another old favourite of mine in Teelin Star, which has already been nibbled at from 16's to 14's. This one was supposed to be a future Gold Cup star or something such, but things went wrong for it at an early stage when a few falls just seemed to batter the confidence out of it. Now at the age of 10 and without winning over jumps, the horse has changed stables, running for Nicky Richards in England (but interestingly enough for the same owners). What really grabs my attention though is the switch from fences (which it has made a pig out of previously) to hurdles. That combined with the fact that the horse goes on a left-handed track for the first time, makes me think we could have a very live one here at a chunky price. Needless to say, the Fathers Day cash is on :pac: Just hope that the tendency to race keen has been trained out of the horse, because while this race isn't strong, there will undoubtedly be one or two who will be staying on late.

Funny you should say that i heard he would be winning at a starting price of about 3/1. Needless to say i dont listen to "WORD" that much but had to have a few quid at 16/1.

    I think SPIKE 5.10 ponte @ 9/1 looks a decent ew bet.

Won a class 5 maiden at the track over 5f with Gibbons onboard.
Drops back into class 5 today and has also dropped from an opening mark of 77 to 72 having contested class 3 & 4 races since.

I've watched every single race this horse has run and if you had asked me where does the horse go next after its last run, I would have said send to to England (less competitive), put it over hurdles (horse has no confidence chasing) and race it over a left handed track (has a tendency to jump out wide on right handed tracks). All those boxes checked for today.

End Game 12-1 and Escalate 9-1 in 2.45

    I like both
    Win bet on both.

Buick got a 15 day ban for causing the fall in the Prix Diane and a further 15 days for abusing the officials.

Coolmore e/w 33/1 in the Diane at Chantilly.

She ran very well considering the ground was against her, that was her best ever run so far and showed that there's some staying power in the Gleneagles genes she shares. Maybe they should have run him in last year's Derby..

Aye tryfix, Coolmore gave me a good run for my money. I thought she shaped like she wanted a trip on her last few runs. Good horse in there somewhere, I suppose they didn't name her Coolmore for nothing. Irish Oaks on good ground could be ideal. Ballydoyle had a nightmare in running. She'll be overpriced for the Falmouth, especially if it's on good ground.

Was beyond annoying how Gleneagles never got his ground to show how good he was against his elders. (I read earlier the full brother Taj Mahal is out later this week actually). I wouldn't be sure GE would have stayed 12f that early in the year. I think the Derby just comes too early for those horses that are Group 1 class as 2 year olds and run in the Guineas. He may well have stayed though, guess we'll never know. Be interesting to see how Taj Mahal goes. Churchill, who won there at Royal Ascot, is out of a Storm Cat mare aswell, what did you make of him? Ran green as grass but looks very good. I think he'd stay at Epsom no problem.

Speaking of Galileos getting the Derby trip, I see APOB is running Deauville in the Eclipse after he didn't stay at Epsom. I remember you saying he wouldn't stay beforehand, didn't stop me backing him unfortunately! Might be a decent price for Sandown. Good ground and I'll be trying to recoup my losses!

I thought Deauville would stay but not very well at Epsom and was surprised he finished as far behind as he did in the Derby, I thought he'd just be one paced in the end as the stayers got going. That he ran so poorly in the Derby means there's hope that there was more than not staying wrong with him on the day because the Dante form didn't hold up at all in the Derby. If he's good enough then the 10f trip should be okay for him, it's the standard of the opposition that's the likely problem and there's a stiff uphill finish at Sandown which will expose any weakness in a horse.

That Churchill race looks better on the surface than it reads when you look at what finished close to the winners. In 4th place splitting the 2 Frankel colts was Mr Scaramanga @50/1 just 2l behind the winner Churchill. Mr Scaramanga was beaten 2 1/2l in a Chelmsford all weather 5f race in his previous race and in the one before that which he won at 6f the close 2nd horse that day was beaten 14l on his next outing in an all weather race at Chelmsford. Back in 6th place in Churchill's race was Thora Barber beaten 3 1/2l at 40/1 who was beaten 5l by the Coventry runner up Mehmas in his previous race. The form of the Chesham was listed class as was the race. Churchill will have to make big improvement on his Chesham form if he's going to be a force in the classics next year.

He's got that improvement in him as that was only his second run and was his maiden win.

Epsom looks to be out for Churchill who is very unlikely to stay 12f in top company. He's got a full sister Curlylocks who didn't run at further than 6 and 7f as a 3yo and his Dam Meow was a sprinter whose Mother was the top class sprinter Airwave so there's not much hope of him getting the trip at Epsom. He looks like a pure miler on pedigree and form. His DI is 1.35 which isn't too bad but a lot of the Galileo's don't stay well once their DI is near 1.25 and higher, even though Order Of St George has a DI of 1.78 his Dam's pedigree is pure American where they don't get their stamina tested and where staying power then doesn't get properly measured in their horses DI's.
