Creeping calves

    Lads I've 7 bulls born December 15 should I start to creep feed them nowto sell in sept or let them run on until end of Oct what do ye think some of them are around 240 kg at the moment

    depends on what you want from them

    are planning on 16mnth beef...if so yes to feed

    if not i would give them a dose and onto good quality grass

    all well they should be tipping 320-340 by oct

    keep the cost down is the name of the game

    IMO creep feeding pays if you are looking to finish at the end

    the lighter cattle seem to make the better money in the past few oct/nov sales

    I'd say creep them, two kilos a day for two months will still be less than a ton and it definitely helps them shine. At 260 a ton for goodish ration it'll more than pay for itself.

    Would it have to be 16% ration or nut which is best to go for
