Got up this morning and checked RTE to see how Shane Lowry was doing - and as not on main page thought his challenge fell away but lo when I went to BBC the main sport story reads Ireland's Lowry leads by 2" - do RTE not maintain their site 24hrs? In some skeleton way????

I wouldn't dream of using rte.ie for any form of news. Even if I wanted League of Ireland stories I'd be more likely to look at BBC Sport.

Amazing - just checked the site now - and there are recent updates and still nothing about Shane Lowry on the main landing page - 2 links to stories on Italy game, one on shock win for Galway and one on Laois hunger to beat Armagh - not trying to diminish any other stories but Irisman leads major/us open is a massive story (I would have thought) - ok not won but fair play to him.

Their remit is a 'national broadcaster' - it doesn't extend to 'publishing' or 'urgency'. The licence fees are now being used to prop up a massive ugly website

RTÉ doesn't usually do much updating at the weekend, skeleton staff on then.

And the website was being used to justify charging a licence fee knbthoae without televisions.
