Laminate flooring and beading

    Hi

I'm currently looking into getting laminate flooring put down in my living room. As the skirting boards already in place, beading will be required around the edges.

The flooring I'm looking at would be a light Oak colour.

My question is, from anyone who has done this, do you suggest going with white beading (to match the skirting boards) or beading which matches, or is a close colour to, the flooring? Which do you think looks best?

Also, the area in front of the fireplace is black marble type, so obviously the white beading would look wrong here. Would it look odd to have white beading most of the way around, but then oak coloured beading for just this section?

Sorry for the detailed questions, but when you have to live with something, good to get lots of input!

around the fireplace, assuming a different level, I would suggest a Alu profile such as

The timber beading wont really work in my option.

I would go white with the beading

Thanks for your feedback. Regarding the fireplace, this is actually a black marble type rectangle built around 2/3 inches above the floor. However, I just discovered today that they have black beading which would fit this.

I think you are suggest going with the white beading wherever there is a white skirting board.
Forever 21, just checking do you agree with this particular point also?

Absolutely white beading, makes it look like its part of the skirting board but put the trim bar around the fireplace like calahonda52 has suggested. I'm at present getting porcelain tiles took up tomorrow & Sunday from hall kitchen/dining room as find them impossible to keep, never again. I've all next week to paint & then will be getting laminate flooring put down & will be doing the same white beading & trim around fireplace. Will post a few before & after pics when done hopefully week after next it'll all be done.

Beading looks cheap. Flooring should run under the skirting. It's not hard to remove them and a bit of filler and repaint makes them look new.

You are looking at right one. The light color flooring will suit.

Take off the skirting and have it done properly. Beading makes it look really cheap.
