Just bought it yesterday online. Seems a great spec for the price. Hope it lasts as long as my moto g, which I have for 2 and a half years and it's still going well.

Yeah it's 16gb and comes with a screen protector already on it. It's also 3gb of ram and it can take an SD card up to 256gb

Great thanks. Hopefully it will ship tomorrow. I've ordered a glass screen protector and a case anyway as they aren't gorilla glass. (Actually ordered 2 cases by mistake - keep a check on adverts 😉)

How much is delivery from amazon.fr? Those that have the phone would you recommend it to others? I have an iPhone that's on its last legs and I'm liking the look of this. Is the camera decent?

220 on Vodafone when porting to them. Great phone, delighted with it at that price.

Would this phone be worth upgrading to from HTC One M8? There's nothing wrong with my M8 but I'm out of contract since April so I can upgrade to the P9 Lite for free.

I don't really want to go any bigger on screen size from the M8 so this seems like a good size screen.

I went from M8 to P9 and briefly considered the P9 Lite. In the end I felt the P9 Lite would be a bit of a side step whereas the P9 was an actual upgrade. The finish on the P9 Lite isn't as nice as the P9. Going from the great camera on the M8, I think the P9 Lite would be a step back but the P9 camera is fantastic. Other than that I think the only significant differences is slightly better CPU/RAM spec on the P9 but overall it just added up to something that was an noteworthy upgrade from the M8.

If you're able to get the P9 Lite for free on your contract, surely the P9 won't cost that much? €49-€99?

Thanks for the reply. That's the exact info I was looking for. So yeah, seems like a sidestep as you said. I think I'll hold out for another while. I've got extra money coming in over the next few weeks so that'll give me some leeway.

Thanks for that, I'm considering the exact same move, HTC M8 to the P9/P9 Lite.

P9 lite is a fantastic phone for the price - Vodafone of all companies have it for 239e PAYG
    Unlock from about 4e online

I hopped over to XDA immediately and found a tool to convert the phone to dualsim

Using it as daily driver for the past few weeks and it's excellent

    Standby. Rare you'd get active.

Took the plunge and bought it online from meteor. 240 then it's 6.50 on eBay for unlock code (anyone used anything else to unlock it? May take 5-10 working days apparantely) then a shock proof case and glass screen protector for about 8 euro all in.

Are the Vodafone / Meteor definitely dual sim?

Yes I was talking to a meteor agent online and e confirmed for me they work with 2 sims or else 1 sim and a micro sd card.

I've been confused as to how the phone will be locked to a particular network though, would both SIM card slots be locked to meteor? Is there two imeis? What way does this work

I'd be very surprised if Meteor are selling dualsim phones.
Let us know when you get it.
The tray is dualsim capable/single sim +microsd but the Huawei ROM has to be dualsim capable

I understand, but I have screenshots of the full conversation with the online agent confirming so if there's anything else wrong I'll be bringing that up.

On an old phone now I will link tomorrow the cover and protector I ordered from uk,both around 4e each, someone on Adverts is selling the exact same one for 15.

Received the phone today and looks great. I can confirm it's the 3gb ram (not 2gb like others) and it is locked to Meteor.

The 2nd sim slot seems to be memory cards only,as it didn't recognise me having a sim in it. Also the phone only has 1 IMEI number too so maybe the flash from Huawei will enable the 2nd sim slot to work(like someone mentioned here), but it doesn't effect me as I won't need it.

Ordered the unlock code from adverts for €8.50 so just have to wait on that.

Set it up and messed around with it for a hour. It doesn't feel sluggish at all, is well built and good value for money.

Got the unlock code Saturday so using it 6 days the battery life is unbelievable! Getting 2 full days and even on the 2nd night charging before bed it's still in the 20 percent mark

Picked this phone up yesterday in Newry for £130 + £10 top up... and 3 years (!!) warranty with an actual shop you can go back to.

Need to get it unlocked and will turn it into dual sim, but that won't be an issue I guess. I have been playing a little bit with it so far, a definite step up from my 2 years old Moto G. Will only start using it for real once I get the case and screen protector (can't believe the display is plain glass..)

The fingerprint reader is amazing , quick and accurate - no misses so far at all. The only thing I need to get my head around is the OS, why do Chinese companies believe they know better... it is a mess. There is a reason some people prefer android over IOS, so why try to imitate IOS on android device. So far installed an app drawer and that makes it a lot better already.

Apart from these few niggles, it is indeed a smashing phone for the money, not sure there is anything better out there below €200..

So how's everyone getting on with this phone? I'm considering it as an alternative to the Nexus 5x.

I've read the OS isn't great, but I'd be installing the play launcher; and that the camera isn't great but that's not a deal breaker.

Any lag or other issues developing over time?

How is it (or Huawei in general) for updates? (I'll probably get it on Amazon so it'll be unbranded).

(Hope no one minds me bumping these device specific threads)

I'm using mine for about a week now. Not a fan of the EMUI skin. Does it require rooting to go back to stock Android?

Also, I'm not finding it as fluid as I expected. Can a slow SD card contribute to this. I think the card I have is decent enough, but I didn't take a close look at specs.
