Help. I'm having this done tomorrow morning and very very VERY anxious about it, petrified actually to the point of chickening out:(

I've had about 7 colonoscopies, and with sedation did not feel nor remember a thing, is the sedation the same or is it a lighter sedation?? I'm scared of gagging:eek: Don't want to go, working myself up into panic mode:(

You wont feel a thing, no gagging.

You likely wont remember a thing either.

Had one a few years back and would have to say it's nothing to worry about - try to stay relaxed and not work yourself up about it. You won't gag as the sedation kicks straight away. Good luck with it.

Thank you, I'm so nervous!! I've had big big surgeries and not been this anxious!

All over and it was fine , doctor quite unpleasant about my being nervous , but sedation worked immediately, don't remember a thing .

That's great. Sorry to hear the doc was a dickhead.

Not too bad. I declined sedation for mine. The sensation of saliva pooling in my mouth due to being unable to swallow was worst part. Over in a few mins.
