    Hi all

Looking to buy a double bale handler - have 2 preferred choices the Nugent Duo or the Cashels Pick and Stack double.

I want to be able to pick bales individually, most importantly. Is one better than the other at this?

I am intrigued by the stacking ability of the Cashels - however we will be stacking all bales in pyramid formation - so not sure if it can stack like this as how would you pull out from the bale when doing second row??

What about the ducks foot, anyone any experience with them?

Grateful for any opinions and experiences that any of you may have with either - or alternative suggestions!!

All I can say is that if you have the ducks foot and the bales are a bit sagged than they are alot harder to get in under than the other job. But they will give the bale a lot more support and are fine if they are nice and round.

I had a single cashels one before and was able to stack bales two high with it.
You wont have space to drop the bale exactly where you want it
The trick was to hold the bale over the other bale but a couple of inches to the side that you wanted it at.
Drop the handler and you end up with one bale sitting ot top of the other.
Pull out quick and the top bale then rolls into place.
It was handy to do with a single handler but would imagine it would be a bit more difficult with a double, not having as much space. I always thought the doubles that stacked bales used to put a bale on top of a bale that was left like a bean tin

Yeah the video of the cashels I've seen have the bottom row like a bean tin and then stack on top of that

I get what you are saying about rolling the bale - that's what I was thinking would have to be done

I wonder is the ducks foot more hastle from this point of view and would the straight tube be easier?

My personal preference is ducks feet bale handlers. A lot simpler and stronger than pipes.
There was a thread on here a while back and lads were comparing prices.
I cant remember the price of the nugent but a ducks feet handler can be got for 750 .
I'd prefer to spend 30 seconds lining up bales than spend a grand extra to pick up one by one. It would be a long time paying for itself.
The other thing Is with wet bales the nugent will need a big tractor to lift the bales.
I made a ducks feet one which I have used behind a 80hp 2nd crystal with 200kg of weights up front carrying fusion bales
