This is an excellent documentary and gives a good insight into the incompetence/motivations of the jury and the failings of those involved at the crime scene such as the forensics people.

I highly recommend watching for anyone remotely interested. It was the most enjoyable programme I have watched since The Jinx.

Any idea when this will be available (legally!) In Ireland/UK?

I was going to start a thread about it myself in the television forum about it. But it seems you have beat me to it!

I've watched the first three episodes so far. It is an extremely engrossing watch. Weirdly enough, despite its length, I feel that it could be even longer and more in depth and not suffer for it - even with all the material I still want to know more about loads of subjects they touch upon; his relationship with his father; the death of his daughter, etc, etc, etc. Those are fairly small criticisms though when weighted beside the obvious thoroughness of the research and the flair with which it's all put together.

I'm glad that something like this is out there. Something that tries to place the absolute dynamite story of the trial into a wider context, so much so that it becomes mind blowing. This is what I wish documentary film-making was more often than not: weighty and complex, but still totally engrossing. I hope it'll become a slow-burning success like The Jinx; that positive word of mouth will ensure that it eventually finds an audience. Right now, for all the plaudits it's being showered with, I still have a job on my hand trying to convince people that I'm not actually talking about the other O.J. series.

Started and finished this yesterday, can't recommend it enough. 8 hours seems massive but it actually flies by as there are so many perspectives included. Also, the Goldman family's sadness, frustration and anger would break your heart.

Yeah it's fantastic. Such a pity it came out around the same time as that awful "drama".

Didn't see this first time round but just finished watching on BBC4. Excellent documentary.

You have to wonder if he was tried today would he get off in the light of Cosby/Weinstein etc. I remember the case very well and it was very unusual for a high profile celebrity to stand accused of serious crimes in court. It was sickenine the way his defense played the race card in light ofor the fact that OJ never gave a damn about the civil rights movement or the black community in general as seen in the opening episode.

Finished this last night. Absolutely brilliant. The thing i took from it was that the jury didnt find him not guilty as much as they were punishing the LAPD. I think the jury had their mind made up from the start regardless of what evidence was produced.
The prosecution made a mess of things but once Cochran turned it into a trial based on race, that was that given the make up of the jury.

Indeed OJ Simpson was the whitest black man in America until Johnny Cochran turned him into a victim of racism. The LAPD was as rotten as a basket of very rotten eggs but he did it!
