Whirlpool AWO Washing Machine Clean Pump Light

    Hi there

The clean pump light comes on in our washing machine. We drained out the water from the pump and clean out some coins, some staples and other gunk from the pump and elsewhere.

The machine works ok for spin and light spin.

For normal wash or for spin & rinse the clean pump light comes on after say 20 to 30 minutes. Most likely when changing from one application to the next.

Any suggestion on how I could solve this?

    Thanks

If the pump isn't clogged up more than likely it is sticking because of wear, common enough problem

    Thanks for that.

Will try to source a pump. Living in Limerick city.

Did two empty washes with Calgan: one daily wash and one at 95C. Both times wash cycle was fine for 30 plus minutes. Then clean pump light came on.

    Hi there

I installed the new pump. The same issue came up, the red light to clean pump.

The wash and spin cycle works ok.

I decided to pull out the washing machine from under the kitchen work top in order to get to the drain pipe. I blew into the pipe to see if any thing is blocking the line.

Plugged the machine back in. Unfortunately the same problem.

    Any suggestions?

assuming you can hear the pump run either the sump hose or waste hose has an obstruction, remove both and check, with the waste hose stand it upright and drop something heavy into it which should come out other end unobstructed

    Thanks for the tips.

After we changed the pump. Its a new pump. Could hear the command from the circuit board for the drain cycle. However, 'clean pump' light came on.

We had installed the sump hose connection upside down to the drum. This we corrected. However, this morning on diagnostic test in the spin cycle a steal frame got caught on the fan belt and took the belt off the fly wheel. When I head back to the house will ask the housemate to help me put the belt back on.

    Cheers.
