Why are TG4 showing old BBC programs ?

    For some reason they have stopped showing vintage ros na run in the summer but now show 20 year bbc cookery shows and 10 year old episodes of the weakest link. Later with Jools holland is now also shown by them on thursday nights.

    Interesting.

    Surely there's a lot of Irish language stuff from the archives that could be shown if they're short of material?

    I'd imagine the content is quite cheap to acquire! See no harm in the older Later With Jools Holland, though old cookery shows probably don't age well.

    TG4's DG, Pól Ó Gallchóir, has announced that he will leave the position at the end of September - in truth, all stations need a regular changing of the guard just to freshen up their programming schedule, so will be interesting to see what direction the channel decides upon.
