    Hi!
I'm looking for an Irish supplier of teat dip and mastitis tests for goats. Is it the same ones as for cows?

And while I'm here - small blister type bumps on goats teat - is that a sign of mastitis? From what I read its not, by itself, but today she had a little bit of blood on the outside of her teat, looked l like scratches, probably from trying to get out under a fence. New to all this goat business!

    Thanks

Are you milking by hand ?

Yes, we are milking by hand Brian. Teat still looks like it just got scratched yesterday, she has 2 little blister type sores higher up on udder, one at back, one in middle but these are maybe the 2nd or 3rd little sores in about a week.

It's possible I was milking her too high, her teats are very small so I was only able to milk with thumb and one finger if you know what I mean, and almost rolling the finger. The first week or so I may have been gripping her where the teat meets the udder, that is, just as it starts to spread out, but really not that high, I thought it was ok from pictures. Now I'm going even lower, but that means less milk per 'squirt' which means it takes longer, and after 10 minutes or so she starts to get fidgety, which isn't good for any of us! Generally she's happy enough now which is a big improvement from the first week without a milking stand where it was hell. She hadn't been milked before, new place, just had kid removed. Newbie milkers, not ideal. Sorry, off topic, no one asked! But in case anyone has advice!
