    Hi Ladies,

I found my dream dress but it is 6k in London! It's super simple and so I'm looking for a good dressmaker in Dublin- any recommendations?

Super simple from a non-dressmaking point of view usually translates to anything but for a dressmaker, especially if they are copying a designer version.

Is there a reason it's €6K - is it designer or something? Can you post a link to it?

It's a Charlotte Simpson dress - open back, long sleeves. No lace, no beading- I have seen some beautiful (and even nicer versions of the same dress on rock my wedding) but they have been made by dress makers in the states so trying to get a good one in Dublin.

With simple dresses the fabric and craftsmanship is all important. I'll pm you name of London designer but she wont be cheap either.

I've just had a look at her designs - they are stunning :)

You'd need someone used to working with delicate fabrics - like someone with a good track record of wedding dress alterations but also have a good portfolio of dressmaking from absolute scratch, with a very good working knowledge of cutting and pattern drafting which I think will be key to getting it as near to the design as you can. As well as that, the choice of fabric is what makes her designs work - they mostly matte fabrics in a certain shade of ivory.

But I think a good dressmaker would be well able to produce a decent version for you. I'm not in Dublin so cant recommend anyone, but hope you find exactly what you need.
