Hi - we got given a mamas & papas cot from a friend but its missing a base bracket & the 4 insert bolts - like attached. Have been to my 2 local hardware stores who couldn't help. Rang M&P who said they couldn't help due to age of cot (9 years). Wondering does anyone know can I buy something like these?
    Thanks!

    where are u based, approx?
what do u mean by base bracket?
    do u have the bracket?
the bolts look like they act as four pins for something removable to sit into that has four location holes drilled onto it.

It you don't want it removable, then rethink the solution perhaps.

post some pics of the rig as is, sans papoose

Thanks for response. Am near limerick. The base brackets are the right angle bolts/screws in the pic (that's what they call them in instructions) I have 3 of them missing one. Correct - the base of the cot sits on top of these & needs to be removable as there are 3 differant levels/heights u want move base up & down.

Any idea of the diameters of the bolt C and the nut D

Does the wooden part of cot seat into the 4 pins

D is a pretty standard piece for joining kitchen units, they are called, by some, cabinet connector bolts.
Am surprised ur hardware store didn't have them

I have some here that are 17mm long, require a 8mm hole and will take a 6mm bolt, so maybe get a 6mm bolt to thread into D and use the nut to lock it up.
It wont slot into the base, and maybe a tad uneven unless u remove a bot of timber but the other 3 will hold it, and a bit uneven wont keep anyone awake..
If u know anyone near ikea in dublin, they have a cabinet in the front with spare bolts etc....

Try the Hafele online catalogue - they stock furniture fittings, specialised hinges etc. It's a BIG catalogue so it'll take a while but it's interesting to read if you're a DIYer who prefers to fix rather than throw away - I've found weird fittings in there before that saved pieces

If you want to make life easier to find part D measure the thread size (or ask a friend if you don't have the tools) and search catalogs with that info
EDIT - I threw in "M6 connecting sleeve" into google and the first link that came up was a different page in the Hafele catalog, what a pure random coincidence :P but it's the part you want.

If you want to have a go yourself at part C go to a woodies and try screwing another one of those right angle parts into a nut that they have and see what size it is - eg M4, M6, M8 which are the most likely.
Next find a long bolt that has the same thread so that when you cut the head off the long bolt the shaft that remains is the same or greater overall length than the part you have.
Bend the long bolt in the vice - I'd advise squeezing the non-thread part in the vice and then thread on 2 or 3 nuts onto the thread and then put a piece of pipe over the nuts - it protects the thread from being damaged.
Use the edge of the vice as the pivot point so you can determine the lengths you need. You'll probably have to bend 2-3 bolts to get it right as the metal won't bend exactly at the vice edge.

Bolt c diameter 5mm, length 35mm both sides, threaded bit 15mm. I don't have any of bolt D so would be just guessing that based on bolt c & the holes in wood (which we can Make bigger if necessary) yes wooden base 'sits' onto 4 pins (bolt c) with the threaded part upwards for the insert bolts (d) to go into.
U make some good suggestions there am sure I should b able to get bolt Ds as u say also surprised hardware shop didn't seem to know. & we could then work something for the 4th one which would b safe!
    Thanks again.

I think I was editing while you posted this - can you remove another of the bolt d's from the cot to use as a template? that way you can bring it to hardware store to determine the thread type.

Okay, its a bit different to what I expected in the sense that the smooth bit of C fits into what I expect is a blind hole in the inside of the frame each height.

The attached I rustled up as an example, it would need the blind hole to be drilled through.
Anyway quiet sailor has some good ideas here so I will leave it

The mamas and papas Alpine cot bed is still in production and seems to use the same part.

    They're called base brackets.

If you have the insert nut for it, I might be able to make you up one if you're stuck.

thanks Colm - I'll ring them again tomorrow & pretend am looking for the spares for the alpine. I asked them would there be any other cot with those parts but they said they couldn't advise me for 'safety reasons'. I get it - but course these look like exact same ones. You have to buy all the nuts n bolts be interesting what they charge!

I had a very similar problem, couldn't find the right bolts so I attached one of these

to one of the vertical rails. Bed rests on this. Works fine and is adjustable. Available from most hardwares.

OP, did you get sorted out? I have a M&P cot which is being thrown out. The brackets look the same to me. They're yours if you want them.
