Need help Trying to get an Irish passport

Hi,

I was hoping if anyone could help me out with my situation, here's my story...

My parents are originally from Pakistan but have been in Ireland for the past 45 years and where married here and both have Irish citizenship and passports.

I was born in Manchester but at the age of 1 we moved back to Ireland and I've been here since that was 1987, I hold a British passport all my life but now would like to get an Irish passport wanted to know if anyone could tell me how. I've tried the website but they are stating that my parents have to be born in Ireland for me to get an Irish passport.

Best just to talk to the passport office and see if they can tell you directly. Is this to do with Brexit? They may be a bit busy with similar queries so keep trying them.

Only one of my parents is Irish and I was also born in the UK and have always had an Irish passport.
