Kitchen suppliers reviews for the West

Went to B&Q today to get a quote for kitchen supply and installation with appliances and got quoted just over e7000. Appliances (dishwasher, fridge, gas stove top and electric oven) came to e1300. It's not a big kitchen pretty standard, and it was laminate.
Not sure of this is the average price I should expect to pay?
Will get more quotes but just thought it was a bit steep.
    Advice appreciated. TIA

That sounds pretty steep for B&Q but would largely depend on the size of the kitchen / number of units etc. I've heard some nightmare stories about their fitters too so we're going with a specialist kitchen fitter. Quotes vary wildly but for a little over 6k we're getting painted solid doors and a solid oak counter-top in an L shape kitchen with a breakfast bar...

Do u mind me asking are u are based in the west? It was the athlone branch I went to. When u say specialist kitchen fitter is that a private company? I'm new to this so I want to get the best value I can. I thought it was a steep price too.

I'm in Dublin, when I say specialist kitchen fitters, I mean companies that specialise in installing kitchens. I don't know any in the West myself but from everything I've heard, you'll generally do better with "XYZ Kitchen Company" than B&Q / Woodies etc. who are first and foremost DIY shops...
