Got a quote there for painting a couple of sheds in the yard last week of 2000€ .. I know painting sheds is deer and i know for a fact these lads arent tinkers but still thought it could be done cheaper. Just wondering if anyone painted sheds on their own and did it work out much cheaper and did it take long? Id hate to pay out 2000 when the paint only costs 800€ for all of it. One of the sheds is a round one and i was thinking of hireing a cherry picker out to do it

    Sounds about right
Lads i had wash it first and spray paint on so it gets in everywhere! I personally wouldn't have the gear to do it as good ! I guess with paying two guys and the insurance it's not a huge profit

Yeah this lad was talking about washing it first aswell .. the plan i had was one of them special corrugated rollers for sheds so no special gear really ... I suppose insurance would be a big one alright yeah

Have you seen sheds these guys painted elsewhere 5 years ago?
Quality of workmanship is poor in some cases. Got caught myself, paint peeling off. The washing was more of a wetting that proper washing. Might be slow and tedious, but like silo slabs (another bugbear of mine!) at least it would be done properly.

Painted a round roofed shed here in 2010

Hot washed 90% of it as the cherry picker I had wount reach to the top of the roof . There is a noticeable difference in the paint now in the areas washed and not washed

When I painted the roof I got a teleporter and cage in. €180 for the weekend. Myself and father were in the cage. herself operated teleporter.

about 3 hours painted the roof.

    Were ye cage fighters? :)

I'd find it hard to work any length of time with my oul lad never mind 3 hours in a confined space stuck 20 foot in the air- chinese torture!!!

God I hate painting. I am sure there are local lads that would be glad for the work. Put the word out. It's not rocket surgery.

Me and my auld lad get on well. Always have.

I guess difference is I didn't inherit our place . So he respects my decisions, however, I almost always ask his advice or input.
